ROVAR Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. It is ROVAR’s policy to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding any personal information we may collect about you, including across our website, https://rovarapp.com/, our mobile app, ROVAR, and other sites we own and operate.
This policy is effective as of 10/8/2026 and was last updated on 10/8/2026.
Personal information is any information about you which can be used to identify you. This includes information about you as a person (such as name, address, and date of birth), your devices, payment details, and even information about how you use an app or online service.
Information We Collect
Information we collect includes both information you knowingly and actively provide us when using or participating in any of our services and promotions, and any information automatically sent by your devices in the course of accessing our products and services.
Log Data
When you visit our website or mobile app, our servers may automatically log the standard data provided by your web browser or device. It may include your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on each page, other details about your visit, and technical details that occur in conjunction with any errors you may encounter.
Additionally, when you encounter certain errors while using the app, we automatically collect data about the error and the circumstances surrounding its occurrence. This data may include technical details about your device, what you were trying to do when the error happened, and other technical information relating to the problem. You may or may not receive notice of such errors, even in the moment they occur, that they have occurred, or what the nature of the error is.
Please be aware that while this information may not be personally identifying by itself, it may be possible to combine it with other data to personally identify individual persons.
Personal Information
When you create an account with us, we will collect the following information:
• Username
• Email address
• User ID
• Password, if you sign up with an email address and password
• If you sign up or sign in with a third-party account (such as Google, Facebook, or Apple), the basic profile information that service shares with us, as described in “Signing In With Third-Party Accounts” below
During the course of your interactions with the Services, you may choose to provide the following information:
• Profile information, such as a profile bio and profile photo
• Posts and other content you create
• Images you upload
• A home region that you select manually
• Details of events you create, including the event’s location
• Social media profiles
• Information you provide when you contact us
Signing In With Third-Party Accounts
You may create an account or sign in using a third-party service, such as Google, Facebook, or Apple. When you do, that service shares certain information with us according to your settings with that service, typically your name, email address, a unique account identifier, and in some cases your profile photo. We use this information only to create, identify, and authenticate your account. We never receive your password for that service, and we do not post to your accounts on those services.
If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email address, in which case Apple will provide us with a private relay address that forwards to your email. You can review or revoke the access you have granted us at any time in the account settings of the relevant service. Your use of these services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
User-Generated Content
Our services allow you to create and share content, including your username, profile bio, profile photo, posts, uploaded images, and events. Content you share in this way is intended to be seen, and may be visible to other users of our services. Please do not include information in your content that you do not want others to see. Other users may view, save, or share content that you make visible to them, and we cannot control what they do with it.
Images you upload may contain embedded metadata, such as the date, device, or location where a photo was taken.
If you delete content, we will remove it from our services, although copies may remain for a limited period in backups or where other users have already saved or shared it. We may review, moderate, or remove content in order to enforce our terms of use and keep our services safe.
Location Information
We handle location information in the following ways:
• Home region. You may choose to manually select a home region. We use it to show you events and content relevant to that area. Selecting a home region is optional, and you can change or remove it at any time.
• Event locations. When you create an event, you may set a location for it. An event’s location is part of the event details and is visible to other users who can view the event, so please consider this before using a private address.
• Approximate device location. When you specifically ask to search for events near you, we request permission to access your device’s coarse (approximate) location. We use it only to perform that search, at the moment you request it. Your device location is not saved to your account, is not retained by us after the search is complete, is not used to build a location history, and is never collected in the background. To complete the search, your approximate location may be processed by our servers and by Google Maps Platform, as described in “Google Services” below.
We do not collect your precise (GPS-level) location. You can grant or withdraw location permission at any time in your device’s settings. If you choose not to share your location, you can still use the rest of our services, including browsing events by your selected home region.
Legitimate Reasons for Processing Your Personal Information
